REYNOLDS' CPR CERTIFICATION

On a chilly January night we hosted an engaging CPR certification class for our staff and their families. Ten of us joined up with Colleen Atkinson and Doug Lo Presti of Critical Skills Education & Training and became CPR certified. Both Colleen and Doug made the evening fun, as well as educational. Reynolds will sponsor another class in the fall of 2015, if interested in attending please call us. As an aside, I would like to share an interesting fact they mentioned. Do you know what city in the country has the highest save rate for witnessed cardiac arrest? Well, the answer is Seattle, Washington. Why, you ask? They have a group of motivated community educators that are actively training people anywhere and everywhere they can. People waiting for a bus, others waiting in line for coffee or resting in a shopping mall might find themselves in a 10-15 minute CPR lesson, learning CPR without notice and later using these lifesaving skills. You can make a difference and I encourage you to get trained. I did!

"THE LOVING PARTY"

Reynolds is a proud supporter of the Old Lyme Historical Society, which just finished working on a joint project among the Old Saybrook Historical Society, the East Lyme Historical Society, the Salem Historical Society, and the Lyme Public Hall Association called "The Loving Party! Signed on January 7, 2015 by representatives of the five cities proclaimed February 13, 2015 marks that 350th anniversary of an historical event in which the development of four settlements branched from Old Saybrook in order to maintain their own religious affiliations!

However the first branch from Saybrook to Lyme was the most important because it marked the first time in state history that a city was branched from a settlement which was proclaimed on February 13, 1665. An agreement was signed by representatives from both sides of the river known as The Loving Party, due to the amicable nature of allowing another city to be established in order to maintain and the continuation of their religion.

If you would like more information on this historical event please visit: www.oldlymehistoricalsociety.org/
