If you call Lyme, Connecticut home like we do here at Reynolds Subaru, then you are likely familiar with the Tour de Lyme. Even if you are not from the area, this May event is worth hearing about! The Tour de Lyme rallies behind land preservation, an environmental cause that is relevant in communities around the world. This exciting event involves over 800 bicyclists of all ages and backgrounds, coming together to spend an active day riding their bicycles many miles around shoreline towns to raise money for a charitable and noteworthy cause- the Lyme Land Conservation Trust. With several different bicycle routes, there are options for cyclists of all levels to participate, allowing practically anyone to get out there and ride to have fun, while supporting a great cause!

Tour de Lyme
For 49 years, the Lyme Land Conservation Trust has worked collaboratively with the community to protect and preserve over 3,000 acres of land in Lyme. The reward of these permanent, protective efforts has been one of enjoyment for all, as those acres are now utilized for hiking, fishing, hunting, and biking by countless people on the shoreline. At Reynolds Subaru, we are all about protecting the environment around us, so this year we proudly sponsored the Tour de Lyme event at the Gold Level, in support of the Lyme Conservation Land Trust. We look forward to supporting this cause for many years to come!! In the link below, you can check out photos from this year’s event!

The Lyme Conservation Land Trust has also recently partnered with Bikes for Kids, a non-profit organization based out of Old Saybrook, CT that uses donated bikes to make and provide refurbished bikes for kids in need. Bikes for Kids has been able to provide countless children with bicycles since its founding in 1989, spreading joy and activity throughout many local communities. This year and past years, Reynolds Subaru has served as a bicycle donation location for bikes during the week of the Tour de Lyme. As the Lyme Land Conservation Trust approaches its 50th Anniversary next year, we are very excited to continue to work with them and support their wonderful, community-based efforts!
