Keep your calendar open for August 15-17, because the Hamburg Fair's lighting up Lyme, CT for its 113th year!
If you haven't experienced it before, this is your chance to see the Lyme Grange Fairgrounds in its element. If you're planning a trip to the fair on Friday night, you'll be treated to some special music from DJ Tom Cimino immediately when the gates open up at 5 p.m. From there, you'll have to choose your next destination: carnival rides, games with the kids, pony rides, farm and animal exhibits, the Wood Carver daily silent auction, tasty snacks...the choice is yours! At 7, witness the pony pull and listen to another live band until the gates close at 11 p.m.
If Saturday and/or Sunday works more for your schedule, here's what you're in for:
Saturday
- DJ Tom Cimino, 9-11 am
- Kid games (ring): Pie and watermelon eating, nail driving, balloon toss, 11-1
- Still Pick'n live band, 12-2 pm
- Horse Pull, 12-2 pm
- The Magic of Christopher, 2-3 pm
- Jump Swing Fever live band, 3-6 pm
- Braiden Sunshine, 6-7 pm
- 8 Mile River Band, 7-11 pm
Sunday:
- Ox Pull and Powder Puff, 9 am
- La La, 12-3 pm
- CT Bristol Old Tyme Fiddlers Club, 3-6 pm
If you're into friendly competition and sharing your passion with others, there's no greater outlet than this old-fashioned county fair. Just be sure to run your handcrafts, quilts, vegetables/fruits/grains, flowers, home foods, poultry, small animals, and other entries by the rules and regulations outlined on the hamburgfair.org site!
General Admission is $5, children up to 12 are free, Active service men and women (with ID) are $3, and senior citizens' rate is $3. As neighbors of the event, our Reynolds Subaru dealership will be closed, but we will be offering up our parking for the Boy Scouts. We hope to see you there!
