Give Your Car, Truck, or SUV the Oil Change it Needs, Conveniently at Reynolds Subaru - We Service ALL Makes & Models

Did you know that 95 percent of Subaru vehicles sold in the last 10 years are still on the road today?* It's no secret that Subaru vehicles are built to last due to careful engineering, but another large component that keeps Subaru models--or any vehicle--on the road longer is regular maintenance and service. Among the many services your vehicle will need over the course of its lifetime is the good, old-fashioned oil change.

Even though Subaru models are made to last longer than the old standard of every 3,000 miles, it's still imperative to keep up with oil changes when you've reached the appropriate benchmark. Most new Subaru vehicles now require synthetic oil for optimal performance and durability, and, on average, you'll want to swing by our service center every 7,300 miles or 3.75 months, whichever comes first. However, if you have a turbo vehicle, you should expect to frequent us more often since turbo vehicles run hotter.

What is synthetic oil, exactly? Synthetic oil has artificially-made chemical compounds by use of chemically-modified petroleum components versus whole crude oil. What does that mean? That means a vehicle's durability is expected to hold up in extreme weather and for long periods of time. In other words, it has a higher viscosity.

Does your Subaru recommend synthetic? The following do:

  1. Subaru Forester, 2011 or newer
  2. Impreza and WRX, 2012 or newer
  3. Outback, Legacy, BRZ, or XV Crosstrek, 2013 or newer

While synthetic oil is recommended for the aforementioned vehicles, your Subaru is also capable of sticking with conventional oil. We would simply advise that if you do decide to switch to synthetic that you stick with it.

As weather conditions continue to change in the Lyme, CT area or you find yourself on rugged roads, keep in mind the more wear you put on your Subaru also determines oil change frequency. Traveling short distances frequently can also do a number on your oil change frequency.
